Hines Mansion: The Inn History
The mansion was built in 1895 by Rusell Spencer and Kitty Hines. According to historical records, the purpose was to create a showplace during Provo’s recovery from a major economic recession. Since those years, the mansion has been recognized among Utah’s historic residential landmarks.
Moreover, Hines Mansion architecture was inspired by the Victorian era and the architect in charge was Richard Kletting, well known for his remarkable work with the Utah State Capitol building. In 1995, the mansion was purchased by Gene and Sandi Henderson and remodeled to serve as an inn.
